The ALLIGATOR series search magnets (F80×2, F150×2, F200×2, F250×2, F400×2) are essential tools for recovering metal objects in water, wells, construction sites or difficult terrain. Each model offers different power (from 129 kg to 470 kg), size and weight to adapt to different scenarios: from light explorations to heavy professional drags. Choosing well means considering the approximate weight of the object, depth of work, type of rope and frequency of use.
1) Power vs size: which one do you need?
-
F80×2 (129 kg, Ø48 mm, 490 g): Compact and lightweight, ideal for beginners, recovery in tight spaces or initial tests.
-
F150×2 / F200×2 (189-219 kg, Ø58 mm, 1.09 kg): Perfect balance for most medium tasks (tools, light machinery parts).
-
F250×2 (290 kg, Ø75 mm, 1.28 kg): For heavier objects in moderate rivers/canals.
-
F400×2 (470 kg, Ø98 mm, 2.4 kg): Maximum power for heavy professional recovery (motors, large tools, scrap).
2) Advantages of double-sided design
Unlike single-sided magnets, ALLIGATORS concentrate force on both sides, enlarging the capture area. This means more chances of “snagging” on the first try, especially on uneven backgrounds or with multiple objects. The M10 grommet allows secure attachment to nylon, steel ropes or carabiners.
3) Galvanized steel body + Ni: extreme resistance
Galvanized steel protects against corrosion in salt/fresh water, while nickel (Ni) covers the internal neodymium. Together they withstand repeated immersions and outdoor use. Maximum temperature: 80°C – perfect for most Argentine conditions.

4) How to calculate the necessary rope and accessories
-
Rope: Use braided nylon or paracord with a minimum capacity 5 times greater than the strength of the magnet (ex: for F250×2, 1500 kg rope).
-
Length: 2-3 times the estimated depth + room for manoeuvre.
-
Extras: Stainless steel carabiner/carabiner, non-slip gloves, float to mark position.
5) ALLIGATOR comparative table (to decide fast)
| Model | Diameter | Height | Max. strength | Weight | Recommended use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| F80×2 | 48 mm | 18 mm | 129 kg | 490 g | Light, narrow |
| F150×2 | 58 mm | 30 mm | 189 kg | 1.09 kg | Medium general |
| F200×2 | 58 mm | 30 mm | 219 kg | 1.09 kg | Medium powerful |
| F250×2 | 75 mm | 25 mm | 290 kg | 1.28 kg | Heavy moderate |
| F400×2 | 98 mm | 40 mm | 470 kg | 2.4 kg | Heavy moderate |
Essential safety with powerful magnets
Always wear thick gloves and glasses — the sudden attraction can pinch hard or throw the magnet. Never work alone near water. Keep distance from electronic devices and people with pacemakers/implants.
